jPlanetoid - A Java Arcade Game This applet implements a game similar to that found in the arcade. Unfortunately, I didn't ever play it much, so this applet is probably more similar to the Planetoid game on the Acorn BBC Micro written in the early 80's by Acornsoft. The Plot Defend the human colonists from the evil aliens Landers will descend from the sky to kidnap the humans Fly your ship left and right and shoot the aliens. Aliens that get a human off the planet create mutants which will give you a hard time. Shooting a pod releases a cloud of swarmers Hit TAB to use a SMART bomb when it gets desperate.
