Houston Restaurants - Lunch

Posted by Jonathan on October 19, 2004

I work pretty near Wesleyan and Richmond, so here’s a rundown of some of my lunch haunts :

Thai Spice (Richmond and Weslayan)

Worth a visit for the excellent Red, Yellow and Green Curry’s. Most of the other lunch entrees are kinda ho-hum, but the curry’s, served in bowls, on a plate with rice are really good.

A small salad liberally doused in peanut sauce is a welcome starter whilst waiting for the entree.

Good value at about $7 ish.

Chipotle

I didn’t really think I’d like Chipotle. Being owned by McDonalds and all. But the food is great. The main deal is burritos and tacos. But with lots of different options on meat (pork, steak, chicken) and rice or salad, you can have something different every day.

Definitely good stuff.

New Job

Well, got a great new job working for a consulting company in Houston. I’m working on gas pipeline transaction software using C++, SQL Server, Oracle etc. Excellent stuff.

Got a new car. Went ahead and got a 2005 Dodge SRT-4. Tripod seems to have given up letting me host pictures there, so that kinda sucks.
