Monster
Saw the movie Monster on Sunday. This is a good movie, but a few people walked out during the show, notably when the Charlize Theron character started to go ballastic after being knocked out and brutally beaten. There is quite a lot of blood and strong language in the movie.
After this point, I started to lose some sympathy for the character as she started killing largely just for money and transportation.
Christina Ricci as a naive and demanding lesbian does ring particularly true, and her portrayal was probably the weakest part of the film for me.
I won’t spoil the ending but it’s not very happy.
Overall, I thought is was a pretty good film, gritty and sometimes unlikeable, but a film you can respect for what it is.
