Home Monitoring applications for Cellphones
Why haven’t home monitoring devices taken off ? What do they need ?
What are the core needs :
o Data gathering / Image capture
o Connectivity
o Easy programming
Well, maybe all that is here now. Some of the current cell phones have connectivity, built-in java, cameras, IR serial ports, in short all of the required attributes to be useful for controlling and monitoring your home. This page gives some of the Java/Linux applications on small devices.
I’d love to have a device in my home that I could text message to ‘look-in’ now and again. This may be easily doable.
